Welcome
Congratulations to the WGA on successfully negotiating a new contract!
During the months of January and February, DLFilms held a Donation Drive to support the Relief Fund for industry employees affected by the WGA Strike. Check out the interview at Firefox News about the donation drive (Heartfelt thanks to Melissa, for giving me the opportunity to talk about why we're doing the donation drive, and for her great review of the film)
The January donation total was $40! Thank you to everyone who purchased a copy of the DVD and contributed! You can see the screen shot from the donation here
Stevie Tuszynski is currently a visiting assistant professor in the Theatre and Film department at the University of Toledo in Ohio. In May of 2006, she received her PhD from Bowling Green State University's American Culture Studies program. Her dissertation, "Breaking Down The Binary Of Online Versus Offline Social Interaction" was a case study of online social interaction that examined the boundaries between "real life" and virtual life. The dissertation grew out of her research of the online posting community The Bronze.
Related to this project is the feature documentary In Real Life, which looks at the social interaction that occurs in a computer-mediated environment and how it affects the participants in other areas of their lives. In particular, the film is about what happens when online relationships move off-line and become long-term.
